Four separate signals, never blended
Every listing on ModelsFree carries four independent pieces of state: a human review, an automated reachability check, a pricing-change watch, and an expiry. Keeping them separate is the whole point — a server answering a ping is not proof an offer still works, and a fresh review is not proof the provider's servers are up today.
1. Human review (the only thing that says “live”)
A person checks the offer against its source: what you actually get, who qualifies, whether a payment card is needed, and the claim steps. That review is recorded with a date, and every card shows it. After 60 days without a fresh review, a listing stops claiming to be live and shows Needs review — the site degrades into honesty rather than silently lying to visitors.
Reviews are tied to the exact version of the terms they checked. If the headline, eligibility, conditions or claim steps change afterwards, the old review no longer counts until someone re-checks those terms.
2. Automated reachability checks (can only downgrade)
An automated watchdog periodically checks whether each provider's site is reachable and watches its pricing page for silent changes. It can flag a listing as Needs review or Having issues — but it can never mark an offer live or verified. A machine answering a ping says nothing about whether the free offer still exists.
3. Changes and expiry
Offers can carry an explicit expiry date; when it passes, claiming is disabled and the guide stays only as a clearly-labelled reference. When a watched source changes after a review, the listing shows Needs review until a human compares the new terms. Withdrawn offers are labelled as unavailable — they are not silently deleted, and they are never silently kept claimable either.
What we do not promise
We do not promise every offer is card-free, currently working, or suitable for you — each card states its own review date and conditions, and “unknown” is shown as unknown rather than dressed up as a promise. If a listing is wrong, the report link on its guide tells us directly.
Referral Disclosure
Some links are referral links, and we may earn credits or a commission if you sign up through one.
That is a real incentive, so here is what it does not buy. Providers cannot pay to be listed or to rank higher: the directory orderings are review date, publication date, name and model count, and the Trending section counts guide clicks — sponsors have no input to any of them. Sponsor placements, when one exists, are always labelled Sponsored and never styled as results.
